Telling her he would like her to call on him at Denmark Hill; saying he would like to take her to visit the National Gallery; discussing his need for sympathy from his friends, but saying that "I should have been very glad of all my lovers, whether they understood me or not, just for the lover's sake--how could you expect to be sympathized with when, by your own confession, you 'trampled on them'."
